Polyglass Polystick® Roof Underlayments

The waterproof layer under your roof, and the part that keeps water out when a storm damages the tile, metal or shingles.

Homeowners pick the tile, shingle or metal they can see. The part that actually keeps water out in a hurricane is the underlayment underneath. If wind breaks tiles or tears off shingles, a well-installed self-adhered underlayment is what stands between the storm and your ceiling. That's why we use Polyglass Polystick® underlayments matched to each roof type.

Polystick® TU Plus for tile roofs

A self-adhered underlayment made for tile roofs. It bonds directly to the roof deck and is designed to work with tile adhesive and tile installation. We use it under concrete tile and clay tile.

Polystick® MTS Plus for metal, tile and shingle

A self-adhered underlayment rated for metal, tile and shingle roofs, including the high temperatures under a metal roof in the Florida sun. We use it under standing seam metal and shingle roofs.

Why self-adhered

  • Sticks directly to the deck, so wind-driven rain can't get under it.
  • Seals around nails that pass through it.
  • Acts as a secondary water barrier if the roof covering is damaged in a storm, which also matters for insurance wind-mitigation credits.

Why underlayment is where old roofs fail

On many 20- to 30-year-old tile roofs, the tile still looks fine while the underlayment beneath has dried out and cracked. That's when leaks start. A new roof with a premium self-adhered underlayment resets that clock. Roof leaking after heavy rain? →

Approved for South Florida code

In Miami-Dade and Broward (the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone), every roofing product must carry a current Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance (NOA) and be installed exactly to it; elsewhere in Florida it needs Florida Product Approval. We confirm the current approval for your address before we order, install to it, and include it with your permit. What NOAs and the HVHZ mean →
